Paul Teule is lecturer in European political economy in the
European Studies program in the Department of History,
Archeology and Area Studies at the University of
    Amsterdam.
He also works towards a PhD dissertation under the supervision
    of prof.dr. Arjo Klamer.
He studied economics and philosophy at the University of
    Amsterdam.
Teule's PhD dissertation focuses on alternative measures of
economic progress. There is quite a societal momentum to move
'beyond' Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as main economic measure,
but for all sorts of reasons alternative/complementary
indicators don't seem to reach the most important institutions,
decision makers and media. The dissertation will assess the
conceptual and institutional barriers they face.
