Yevai's research forms part of the Veni project Transforming Food Labour for Just Food Futures (2024–2027), funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), supervised by Dr Vladimir Bogoeski.

She is particularly interested in  business and human [and nonhuman] rights. She is especially drawn to questions of corporate accountability, sustainable finance, and ESG reporting, and how these intersect through law and political economy. She often approaches these questions drawing on non-Western epistemologies to rethink legal systems. In this way, her PhD currently looks at exploring the potential of private law to foster a more sustainable food system guided by principles of African philosophy, such as Ubuntu.

She has previous work experience in the financial services sector and has undertaken research projects exploring sustainable banking in the Netherlands. She is also interested in animal rights law and has worked on various research projects that were focused on animal law in South Africa. She holds a master's degree in International Business Law focused on climate change and corporations (2022). She particularly enjoyed courses on Problems of Market Regulation, Corporate Law (issues of CSR), and Climate Change Liability.
