Andreas Kotsios is a Ph.D candidate at the Faculty of Law, Uppsala University, researching consumer law issues arising in modern payments. The thesis takes an IT approach on the subject, by focusing not only on performances that are traditionally identified as payments but also on such performances that constitute alternative payments, such as the ones made with different types of data (personal data and cryptocurrencies).
He holds an LL.M in Law and Information Technology form the University of Stockholm (2014), an LL.B from the University of Athens (2007), has worked as a lawyer and legal counsel since 2007 (Member of the Athens Bar Association) and has a background as a computer networks specialist and JS-programmer.
