From 5 of September to 31 of October, Agnieszka Smoleńska (Polish Academy of Sciences) will join ACT as a visiting researcher. Read below for more information.

Dr Agnieszka Smoleńska is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she carries out a three-year NCN-funded project “The EU’s sustainability capitalism: identifying the varieties of financial markets transition”. She is Associate Researcher with the European Banking Institute where she contributes to the work of the Working Group on Finance, Climate Change and Sustainability. Dr Smoleńska defended her PhD on EU banking law at the European University Institute in 2020. 

In addition to academia, dr Smoleńska has rich experience in international and European policy, including at the European Parliament, European Commission and the Florence School of Banking and Regulation (FBF). She carried out research projects for World Bank and the OECD. For three years she headed the European desk at the analytical centre Polityka Insight in Warsaw. 

She has published articles on EU financial supervision architecture, euro area economic governance and sustainable finance.
