About the Speaker

Riccardo Fornasari is an Italian legal scholar specializing in private law and its intersection with climate change. Fornasari pursued doctoral studies in private law at both the University of Bologna and the University of Paris Nanterre, completing his Ph.D. in 2020. His dissertation, titled "Causa e meritevolezza nel diritto contrattuale contemporaneo," examined the evolution of contractual cause and merit in contemporary law. He has served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna and as an Attaché Temporaire d’Enseignement et de Recherche at the University of Paris Nanterre. ​His research interests have evolved from the relationship between contract law and political economy to the role of private law in addressing climate change. Notable publications include "La struttura della tutela inibitoria ed i suoi possibili utilizzi nel contrasto al cambiamento climatico" and "Pour la reconnaissance d’un lien de causalité entre le changement climatique et les activités polluantes des entreprises
