About the speaker
Leticia Díez Sánchez serves as an inquiries officer within the strategic team of the European Ombudsman. Prior to this role, Leticia held positions such as a visiting professor at the College of Europe, Teaching Fellow at Sciences Po, and Emile Noël Fellow and Fulbright-Schuman grantee at NYU. Leticia's academic research focuses on the impact of EU law on social inequality and, more broadly, the distributional consequences of the legal system. Her doctoral thesis garnered acclaim, earning the First Place Award for the best doctoral thesis in European Law from the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA), the 2021 Thesis Prize from the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), and the 2022 Mauro Cappelletti Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Comparative and European Law from the EUI. The thesis is set to be published soon as a monograph by Oxford University Press.
