Cross-Border Litigation in Europe

Prof. Aukje van Hoek writes a national report for the European Union Private International Law: Legal Application in Reality (EUPILLAR).

National report

The purpose of the national report is to identify the main problems which litigants face under the current legal and institutional framework and to indicate how cross-border litigation functions in the relevant jurisdiction in the light of the case law and legal practice on five regulations, ie Brussels I, Rome I, Rome II, Brussels IIa and Maintenance, and when possible includes statistical information.

The national report will appear in the forthcoming book entitled ‘Cross-Border Litigation in Europe: Private International Law Legislative Framework, National Courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union’ edited by Paul Beaumont, Mihail Danov, Katarina Trimmings and Burcu (Hart Publishing 2017).
