This conference will serve as a platform to connect people working across different but related fields, with the planned output including a whitepaper (drawn from the contributions of speakers and panellists) which will be offered to the European Commission.

This conference is co-organized by Marija Bartl (University of Amsterdam) and Rutger Claaassen (Utrecht University). Maria Bartl is a professor of Transnational Private Law at the University of Amsterdam. She is currently the Principal Investigator of N-EXTLAW, a project sponsored by the European Research Council (ERC) on the legal design of non-extractive economic practices. Rutger Claassen is a professor of Political Philosophy and Economic Ethics at Utrecht University. He is currently the Principal Investigator of CORPORATOCRACY, a project sponsored by the European Research Council (ERC) on the social/political power and responsibilities of business corporations
